Unleashed : 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status

The story of Gifts of Grace began in 2011 and it's a story about two little girls, both being exploited in the worst possible way. After seeing that and coming to an understand on what was going on I promised myself that I would be back and I would do something to end that exploitation for the children in the Dominican Republic. As of Tuesday, August 23rd 2016 Gifts of Grace is officially a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization. We are unleashed! This status opens up so much more as far as how we can fundraise, operate, and ultimately how we can affect the lives of children in the Dominican Republic and eventually across the globe.

The First Scholarship!

Gifts of Grace has done a lot in the past 2 years to combate sexual exploitation of minors in the Dominican Republic. We've helped over 75 children who have never been to school attend school, learn how to read, and become aware of the dangers that traffickers present and the lies they tell. We've created a service organization that has also helped thousands of residents in local communities, and we've created partners and friends that are committed to helping us reach our goals and well do the same for them. But its not enough.

Gifts of Grace has goals to continue the work we have been doing in the Dominican Republic. We want to continue to work in the poorest communities to help children get into school so they are not exploited. We want to create a safe house for children who have been rescued from this exploitation. To help them with their healing and through the process of saving their dreams. We want to create a mission program, where incurable fanatics of our cause from the United States and come and help these kids heal, help them believe again that their dreams are achieve able, and help remind them that they matter and they have so much more to offer this world than just their bodies. We want to create a scholarship program for those girls 18 and older who age out of safe houses. Too often these girls have been told and treated in a way that makes them believe that all they have to offer this world is their bodies. Because of that mindset, often the girls return to the place of their abuse because it's all they know. Not on our watch! We want create a program that allows them to pay for college and have a chance to achieve their dreams. We want to work with local law enforcement to give them the teeth and the tools needed to arrest these monsters and even to preform rescues for some of the 50,000 children trapped in sexual exploitation. We want to work with local government to help create a way to enforce the laws put into place so that the children are protected. And finally we want to extend our mission past the Dominican Republic. We have already laid the ground work to create programs in Haiti and Cambodia. Education is power and we want to extend the chance to children across the globe to have the chance at a bright future and an childhood free of exploitation. "Rescuing girls from brothels is important, but the best way to save them is to prevent them from being trafficked in the first place-which means keeping them in school." (Sheryl WuDunn, Half the Sky, Politer Prize Winner 2009)

I know God loves these kids. I know that He weeps for these kids. I believe that we are called to keep our heads out of the sand and help these kids. I know that children are praying to be released from their captors and to be helped out of their extreme poverty. I believe Gifts of Grace is an answer to the prayers of the children. To save their dreams, and to show them there are people who are concerned about their plight and are willing to help!

I ask you to help us on this journey! Because Gifts of Grace is now tax exempt, we can now help you as you help us! Become a fanatic! Fanatics are monthly donors of 5 dollars. It is a small amount to be able to help a child overcome poverty and have a childhood free of exploitation!

So many people are to thank for the establishment of Gifts of Grace as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and we've done good work! But it is not enough. There is much work to be done. But there is hope! I ask that you don't turn us off. I know we talk about heavy topics but in order to fight this great evil we have to be aware of what is going on. Support us, because it's not just a cause. It is the lives of these children. You can make a real difference! We are excited to have you on this journey to combat this evil and make a real difference in the lives of so many! By donating to Gifts of Grace, you are saving dreams.

"The war against modern day slavery and exploitation doesn't need interested observers, it needs incurable fanatics!" Ben Nolot, Founder of Exodus Cry
